The Huron County Young Professionals Network provides networking opportunities to the dynamic young people who call Huron County home. An initiative of the Huron County Community Foundation, the Huron County Young Professionals Network (YPN) opens the door for young people in their twenties and thirties to create valuable relationships, gain professional development, and access tools and information they can utilize in a real world setting.
What does it mean to be a young professional? Are you passionate about what you do? Do you consider yourself entrepreneurial or civic minded? Would you like to meet new people and establish yourself in your profession? Are you a college graduate or gainfully employed? Have you recently moved back to the Thumb area and want to reconnect? If you answered yes to any of the questions above you should look into joining our local YPN!
The Huron County YPN gets together regularly at locations across the thumb. Each gathering provides a unique opportunity for young pros to network and grow. Events range from informative to fun and diverse and provide excellent opportunities to connect with other young professionals in the area.
Recently, close to forty young professionals across Huron County gathered at Rachel’s of Bad Axe to partake in a friendly game of trivia. As both new and returning young pros arrived, the room buzzed with happy greetings and easy conversation. With glasses full, and team names chosen, the games could begin. Following a format much like the popular game show series Jeopardy, Clark Ramsey played the role of host, and lead with questions from different categories that ranged in difficulty (or points per question). Some of the category topics included 90's, art, history, music, and entertainment. Meanwhile, 5 teams jovially deliberated the answers with hopes of winning a $100 gift card. Although only one lucky team could win the prize, everyone left with something; a great time with even greater people.
There are many benefits to joining a young professionals organization. With countless networking and career building opportunities, and fun activities and events, young professional organizations help young professionals under 40 grow both personally and professionally.
Although most opportunities are targeted toward young professionals under 40, the Huron County Young Professionals Network understands the value of establishing a support system with experienced professionals across the board. There is always room for participants willing to work with and mentor young ambition in the area.
