Winter Activities in Huron County
Is winter getting the best of you? These winter activities in Huron County are a great way to get outside and enjoy the magic of winter. There are plenty of opportunities to have fun and get active, even if the temperature is a little chilly.
Ice Skating + Hockey
Did you know Huron County has its very own ice rink? The Bad Axe Fairgrounds offers Open Skating on Friday evenings, as well as on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Admission is $4.00. Don’t have skates? No problem! You can rent skates for $1.00. For more information
If Hockey is more your thing, there are teams for everyone, U6-18U, and adults. The Huron County Hockey Association is a group of local people and volunteers who coach, assist, and schedule hockey practices and games. There are also tournaments for the kids to participate in.

Cross Country Skiing
You could also try cross-country skiing. Check with the State Parks for groomed trails: Port Crescent and Sleeper State Parks offer trails. You can also rent cross-country skis at Heins Hardware in Port Austin.
