Parks & Beaches
Pointe Park:
Caseville is in motion on a project to develop a new park at the breakwall in town. A key highlight of the new Pointe Park development focuses on handicap accessibility. The new park project is to include a 10-foot long sidewalk for handicap accessible fishing, a handicap accessible kayak and canoe launch, and an additional handicap accessible walkway out to the front of the boardwalk on the beach side. Other improvements include a paved parking lot, hardwired LED lighting along the breakwall, in addition to some improvements to the bathrooms.
The installation of a new seawall at the edge of the Pigeon River is also in the plans. When Pointe Park is complete, it will be featured as a location on the Thumb Heritage Water Trail and will include the first handicap accessible kayak launch in the county. The new Pointe Park project is being funded by a $296,000 Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant and $104,000 from the City of Caseville and is anticipated to be completed by June 1, 2018.
