Farmers Markets in Huron County

Huron County is home to a wide variety of agriculture and crafts. One of the best ways to experience this is at a local farmers market. Currently, Huron County has five regular farmers markets, you can be sure to hit one Friday - Sunday.

Harbor Beach Farmers Market

The Harbor Beach Farmers Market is attractive not only because of the great goods one can find but also because of its beautiful setting. This weekly farmers market is located on a piece of property that is ripe with history and only a mere block away from Lake Huron. While browsing the vendor’s many goods and trinkets you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lighthouse and beach.

The Harbor Beach Farmers Market is held on Friday afternoons and is located at the museum which was once the home of Frank Murphy, who served on the U.S. Supreme Court in 1940 after a political career as Governor of Michigan and Mayor of Detroit. At the Harbor Beach Farmers Market, you can find vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, various crafts, woodworking, plants and flowers, and more. Pigeon Farmers Market

Another farmers market worth checking out is the Pigeon Farmers Market. Located in the Farmers Market Building between the Village Hall and the Pigeon Historical Museum, you can browse handcrafted goods and locally grown produce.

The Farmers Market Building was first constructed as a pavilion in 1997 and later modified to an enclosed building in 2008. In addition to providing protection from inclement weather, the new building is handicap accessible and provides public restrooms. Typically, the building can fit 15 vendors comfortably, with availability for vendors to set up in the parking lot area as well. For more information visit the Pigeon Farmers Market Facebook Page.

Ubly Farmers Market

Last year, Ubly welcomed their very own, and first, farmers market! The idea for a farmers market came about when some members of the community thought about having a small market for crafts. After some discussion, the community felt that Ubly could use a farmers market, especially since the area no longer has a grocery store.

The farmers market will take place on Saturdays starting late May 18th through mid-October. The market will open Saturday mornings at 9 am at Veteran's Memorial Park in Ubly, and will run from 9 am to 1 pm.

Right now, the market has approx. 17 vendors ranging from foodstuffs like fresh produce and baked goods, in addition to crafts, woodworking items, crocheted items, pet stuff, and more. The Ubly Farmers Market is a brand new event for the community of Ubly and we look forward to helping them launch. Be sure to stop by to show your support!

For more information or to become a vendor or for more information visit the Ubly Community Club Facebook page.
