Janet's Graphics & Printing - New Location

Janet’s Graphics & Printing may not be considered a “new” business since it started in 2014 in a small location behind Mancino’s in Bad Axe, but their new location on South Van Dyke is certainly getting attention of those who pass by.

Born and raised in Bad Axe, Janet dreamt about starting her own business since high school. While working as an assistant purchasing agent with Thumb Office Supply for 10 years and Smith Distributing for 21 years, she gained enough knowledge and experience to help make her dream a reality.

Janet had been interested in business and designing for as long as she could remember. When a friend asked her if she would run a vinyl machine so he could provide decals for his customers, her original response was,”NO.” So, he bought the machine, and she learned. “Never thought I would make a career out of it, but I love it and haven’t stopped since,” says Janet.

In the last four years, Janet has been able to grow her business to include 3 employees, Kathy Ruth, Carrie Hanson, a customer service representative, and Kala Stevens, a graphic designer, and embroidery specialist. The larger building has given them the ability to purchase more machines and offer additional printing services. There is also plenty of space for retail items to have personalized including shirts, jackets, pants, athletic wear, cheer wear, hats, socks, and more. The list of things to be personalized goes far beyond clothing. The business has the ability to create window decals, vehicle and trailer decals, custom embroidery, sublimation, etching, wall and drink ware decals, posters, banners, and signs of all shapes and sizes, and the list goes on and on.

Caseville Hardware - New Ownership Update

Two years ago, Caseville Hardware, a cornerstone in Caseville for many years, was purchased from Steve and Michelle Louwers by the Windy family. Mark, his wife, Cheryl, and their sons, Steve and Matt took the plunge not only becoming residents of Caseville year round, but owners of their very own business as well. Business and the trades of construction, and plumbing and heating, are well known by the Windy family. Prior to moving to Caseville, Cheryl owned and operated several businesses over the years and Mark was well versed in plumbing and heating, while both their sons, Steve and Matt, had construction licenses.

The Windy family has made some changes to the store since opening two years ago and they’re in the process of working on adding a new addition. The added space will provide more space for additional construction materials such as lumber. Customer service is a key element of their business. They strive to provide whatever the customer needs, and if they don’t have it in stock, they’ll order what’s needed. They will also provide lumber cut to order, including thread pipe and PVC.
