Summer Events & Camps for Kids in Huron County

Here is a list of kids camps and events going on this summer throughout Huron County, by location.

Bad Axe

  • Summer Day Camp / Bad Axe Park & Recreation

Bad Axe Summer Day Camp runs from 9am- 2pm for about 8 weeks in the summer for kids ages 5-13. Monday, Wednesday and Friday kids meet at the Bad Axe City Park and Tuesday's and Thursday's kids get to go on fun field trips. Some of the field trips include, going to the beach, bowling, zoo, putt- putting and more. On the days the kids are in the park they get to play organized games and crafts. Some of the days are themed such as, superhero day, red white and blue day, Halloween day, Christmas in July day and more! Harbor Beach

  • AgVenture Day - Saturday, August 13 from 10am-4pm

The first event of its kind in Huron County, AgVenture Day is an event that celebrates agriculture. From streets lined with farm equipment like tractors, combines, and more to tons of free activities like farm tours, games, and music, this event is one your kids will not want to miss.   • Pigeon Summerfest - July 21-24

Pigeon Summerfest offers tons of events and fun for kids. Events include a water ball and bucket brigade, town wide scavenger hunt, cookie walk, piggy bank decorating, nail painting and more! On Saturday kids can enjoy inflatables, petting zoo, pedal tractor pull and glitter tattoos and face painting. Port Austin

  • Port Austin Kayak Adventure Camps - July 25-28 & August 9-11

Do your kids enjoy the outdoors? If they do then they are sure to love the Port Austin Kayak Adventure Camp! Kids will enjoy all sorts of fun outdoor activities including kayaking, paddle boarding, dune-trekking, geocaching, snorkeling, hiking, games and more. There are two sessions to choose from: July 25-28, and August 9-11. The July session is a four day camp, and the August session is a three-day event. Pricing is $149 for the August camp and $199 for the July camp. These camps are designed for three age ranges: Explorers age 8-10, Pathfinders age 11-13, and the Trailblazers age 14-16.   • Huron County Nature Center - Free & open to the public all year

The Huron County Nature Center is a great place to take the kids this summer. Explore over 280 acres of woods and wetlands while learning about native plant and animal species. Every Saturday during the summer months, kids and parents alike will enjoy a free educational program about topics that range from birds of prey to animals and the environment and much more. Programs typically begin at 10:30 am at the Huron County Nature Center visitor center. For a full list of programs and events, head on over to the Huron County Nature Center website. The Huron County Nature Center is located off of Oak Beach and Loosemore Road, just 9 miles west of Port Austin.


  • Free Movies in the Park - July 7, 16, & 30 and August 13 & 27

Bring the kids to Veterans Park in Ubly to enjoy a free movie with popcorn and water provided. The free movies will begin at dusk, so bring a blanket or chair and join in on the fun!

  • Ubly Homecoming - July 7th -10th

Kids and teens of all ages will enjoy plenty of fun activities at the Ubly Homecoming event. There will be a teen scavenger hunt for grades 5-12, a mud volleyball tournament, truck and tractor pull, kiddy parade and much more!
