After a long Michigan winter, there is nothing more exciting than the thought of summer and spending time outside. Among the many familiar and unique activities of summer, there are some that are meant to be celebrated. Summer festivals in Huron County are the places to do just this.
Celebrate summer with us in Huron County, and you will find that there is a festival for you to enjoy. Do you love live music, food, sports, antiques or activities for children? If you do, you're in luck! You won’t have to look very hard to find a festival or event taking place in Huron County in the summertime because it seem’s that there is one just about every weekend with something for everyone to enjoy.
Festivals are a great way to explore different areas of the thumb and celebrate the summer! If you haven’t checked out any of the festivals listed below we certainly encourage you to do so.
Michigan Sugar Festival - Sebewaing (June 15-18)
For over 50 years, 53 to be exact, the Michigan Sugar Festival has been drawing people from near and far to celebrate agriculture, family fun, and of course, sugar! The Sugar Festival is a four-day festival jam packed with activities for kids and adults. Caseville Country Ribstock - Caseville (June 23-25)

Caseville is home to a number of events and festivals throughout the summer months including the Cheeseburger Festival, but there is another festival in Caseville that deserves your attention - Caseville Country Ribstock! If the smell of smoking barbecues and sound of country music tickles your fancy then you have to check out the Caseville Country Ribstock. Eat your way through thousands of ribs and vote for your favorite all the while enjoying live country music. On Saturday, July 24th a new festival will be taking place in Port Austin that you won't want to miss - especially if you are a lover of all things music! Porch Fest is a live music festival celebrated across the beautiful town of Port Austin. 4th of July Festival - Port Hope (June 30th & July 1st-2nd)
Port Hope is a little town on the thumb’s sunrise side with a big welcome, and the 4th of July Festival is no exception! Beyond the obvious Independence Day activities like fireworks, the 4th of July Festival in Port Hope is a four-day festival that pays homage to our nation’s past. There will be antique farming equipment and tractors as well as handmade quilts and crafts to peruse at your leisure in addition to a handful of other noteworthy activities which you can check out on the Port Hope, Michigan website. Port Austin Art Fair - Port Austin (July 1-2nd)
Join the Thumb Artists Studio Tour in cooperation with the Village of Port Austin as they present this new by-invitation art fair July 1st and 2nd from 10 am to until 4 pm at Veterans Waterfront Park. In place of the annual Thumb Artist Studio Tour, the Port Austin Art Fair is the first of it's kind and gathers most all of the tour artists and more for your viewing and shopping pleasure. Maritime Festival - Harbor Beach (July 6-9th)
For those looking for an eclectic blend of free, live music, then checking out the Harbor Beach Maritime Festival is a must! Among many other events in Harbor Beach throughout the summer months, the Maritime Festival is by far the largest. Enjoy tons of live music on the beach throughout the entire weekend, amateur jet-ski races by day, and plenty of other free activities for both kids and adults. Fish Sandwich Festival - Bay Port (August 4th-6th)
Since 1978, the Bay Port Fish Sandwich Festival has been the best place to get your hands on a fresh fish sandwich (it’s so large it takes two hands to hold one) in addition to enjoying plenty of fun activities for kids and adults.
