Is winter getting the best of you? Why don’t you try some winter activities to get you motivated? There’s lot to do outside. We have a hockey rink at the Bad Axe Fairgrounds that offers Open Skating on Fridays from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The cost is only $4.00. Don’t have skates? They have you covered, you can rent skates for $1.00. Don’t know how to skate? On Sundays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. “Learn to Skate” sessions are offered, Helmets are Mandatory!
Is Hockey more your thing, there are teams for everyone, U6-18U and Adults. Join the Huron County Hockey Association, it’s a group of local people and volunteers who coach, assist and schedule the hockey time. You could also try cross country skiing. Check with the State Parks for groomed trails: Port Crescent and Sleeper they have some trails that are great for this. You can also rent cross country skis at Heins Hardware in Port Austin. If these winter activities are not for you, think Spring it’s only 28 days away.
