Huron County is home to a wide variety of agriculture and crafts. One of the best ways to experience this is at a local farmers market. Currently, Huron County has four regular farmers markets with the newest addition of a farmers market in Ubly.
Harbor Beach Farmers Market
The Harbor Beach Farmers Market is attractive not only because of the great goods one can find but also because of its beautiful setting. This weekly farmers market is located on a piece of property that is ripe with history and only a mere block away from Lake Huron. While browsing the vendor’s many goods and trinkets you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lighthouse and beach. The Harbor Beach Farmers Market is located at the museum which was once the home of Frank Murphy, who served on the U.S. Supreme Court in 1940 after a political career as Governor of Michigan and Mayor of Detroit. At the Harbor Beach Farmers Market, you can find vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, various crafts, woodworking, plants and flowers, and more.
The Harbor Beach Farmers Market is every Thursday from May 24th to October 11th running from 11:30am to 6pm, located on the Murphy Museum lawn on M-25.
Special Market Days:
Attend the Harbor Beach Farmers Market on June 21st, July 12th (Christmas in July), and August 16th for drawings and other fun surprises for kids and adults.

Pigeon Farmers Market
Another farmers market worth checking out is the Pigeon Farmers Market. Located in the Farmers Market Building between the Village Hall and the Pigeon Historical Museum, you can browse handcrafted goods and locally grown produce. The Farmers Market Building was first constructed as a pavilion in 1997 and later modified to an enclosed building in 2008. In addition to providing protection from inclement weather, the new building is handicap accessible and provides public restrooms. Typically, the building can fit 15 vendors comfortably, with availability for vendors to set up in the parking lot area as well. After browsing and shopping the various goods being sold, head on over to the Pigeon Historical Museum to learn about the unique history of Pigeon and see what life was like 50, 75, and even 100 years ago. The Pigeon Historical museum is open from 9am to 4pm on Fridays.
The Pigeon Farmers Market is every Friday, May through October from 9 am to 4 pm and is located in the Farmers Market Building located right in between the Village Hall and the Pigeon Historical Museum right off of Main street in downtown Pigeon.
Special Market Days:

Ubly Farmers Market
This year, Ubly welcomes their very own, and first, farmers market! The idea for a farmers market came about when some members of the community thought about having a small market for crafts. After some discussion the community felt that Ubly could use a farmers market, especially since the area no longer has a grocery store.
The new farmers market will take place on Saturdays starting May 26th and run through mid-September (September 15th), unless demand for the market persists, in which case it could go on for a few more weeks. The market will open Saturday mornings at 9 am at Veteran's Memorial Park in Ubly, and will run through the afternoon until 2 pm. There will not be a farmers market during the Ubly Homecoming (July 14th).
Right now, the market has approx. 17 vendors ranging from food stuffs like fresh produce and baked goods, in addition to crafts, woodworking items, crocheted items, pet stuff and more. The Ubly Farmers Market is a brand new event for the community of Ubly and we look forward to helping them launch. Be sure to stop by to show your support!
