TOTAL CASH PRIZES = $30,000

The I-69 Thumb Region is hosting a Catapult Your Craft Food & Beverage Business Competition to award $30,000 in prizes to entrepreneurs and small business owners to start or grow their craft food or beverage businesses. Each of the seven counties in Region 6 (Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair and Tuscola) will host a local competition, and the winners will move on to the regional competition. Entries will be accepted through October 17, 2016.

This competition aims to assist entrepreneurs and small business owners to start or grow their craft food or beverage businesses.

Each of the counties in the region will hold a competition within their community in early November, via a public pitch event. Awards will be: $2,000 to the first place winner and $1,000 to the second place winner. County level first place winners will move forward to compete in the regional final for additional cash awards - $5,000 -1st place, $3,000 - 2nd place and $1,000 – 3rd place.

Online applications and company information may be found on the Startup Compete website using the following link: https://i69foodbeveragecomp16.startupcompete.co/. Once this process is completed competitors have until October 17 to upload their maximum 3-page executive summary and upload pitch presentations of not more than 10 slides.

The Small Business Development Center at Kettering University (810) 762-9660 will be providing support to applicants that need assistance.
