Daniel Lanfear

Agricultural Sciences

I have been a resident of Harbor Beach since 2002 and have family in the Port Hope and Forestville areas.  My children were just 2 and 3 when my wife Elizabeth and I moved here to work with Corteva AgriScience. My children graduated from Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic School and now attend Harbor Beach High School.  We truly appreciate the small town living that Huron County has offered us.  My professional work at CAS is not just a job, not just a career, but has become our home.    My colleagues at CAS and in Huron County are family, which drives my commitment to the economic development of Huron County.

Communications Industry

As a fourth generation Huron County native and resident from the Port Austin area, I worked as a CPA  in the communications industry, and now I am retired.   No stranger to change in telecommunications,  just think about the evolution of your cell phone over the last 20 years. We have moved from bag phone to flip to smart phone in a very short span of time. I am glad to bring this communications perspective to the economic development interests in Huron County.. In 2019 I will serve as a Huron County Commissioner.

Agribusiness Marketing

I am President of BAMP Marketing & Consulting Inc , a dry bean marketing company located in Sebewaing, MI. We work directly with local dry bean farmers from the Thumb and surrounding areas.  I bring to the Economic Development Board, an expertise in the agribusiness field and I help to represent the West side of the County.  I really enjoy working with a very diverse group of individuals on the EDC board along with a great Executive Director and staff.  We are continually challenged with growing and promoting the many wonderful aspects that Huron County has to offer, not only to our local residents but to the many visitors who travel to  the Thumb area.  I look forward to serving on this board and welcome your ideas to promote the valuable assets of Huron County.
